Mr Laas Leivat (b. 15.3.1941 Käina, Hiiumaa, Estonia – d. 19.1.2024 Toronto, Canada)
It is with great sadness that we announce that on 19 January 2024, the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Estonia in Toronto, Mr Laas Leivat has passed away. Mr Laas Leivat served as the Honorary Consul General from 2002.
The Embassy would like to thank Mr Leivat for his dedicated work as an Honorary Consul General and his leadership in Toronto Estonian Community – for being a true Estonian activist. The Embassy expresses its heartfelt condolences to the spouse, children and close relatives.
