Estonian Ambassador Toomas Lukk graduated from the University of Tartu in the specialty of geography. He has worked at the Estonian Academy of Sciences, and since 1993 he has been employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From August 2002 to September 2006, Lukk was the Ambassador of Estonia to Latvia, and thereafter the Director of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Office. Since 2008, he was the Estonian Ambassador to Georgia and Armenia, residing in Tbilisi. From 2012, Toomas Lukk was the Estonian Ambassador to China, Mongolia and Vietnam, based in Beijing. Between 2016 and 2018, the Ambassador worked as the Director of the Asia, Africa, Australia and Latin America Office of the Political Department.
